The hugely prolific Uwe Schmidt has been refreshing his craft in electronic sound for over two decades. From industrial techno and acid through to his Latin inflected work as Señor Coconut, his works have always erred on the side of playful. Whilst Liedgut takes the AtomTM project in a neo-classical direction, this fun remains essential to his work. Out of gentle white noise clouds, Schmidt arranges his 8-bit orchestra through lilting Waltzs and flurried Scherzos. There are Arias here too, only the voices here rasp out in gutteral and Germanic robot tones.
